Just as a hint, burned dvd are not as stable(missing or corrupt files during burning) as usb, so USB should be preferred over dvd for installing windows. I know Vista installs ok.. The HDD light stays on indefinitely but there is no activity. I sincerely regret my jumping to conclusions.I have a Dell Inspiron 531 with a 64 bit AMD Processor. The install hung after altering the resolution on the master screen, in desperation I eventually disconected the secondary display and the install went fine.
